Design

S10 design

If you thought smartphones couldn’t get any thinner, you were wrong. This new model not only has a larger screen than the previous version, but it is ridiculously thin as well.

The back of the phone is made of glass, with a metal line around the edges. The charging port, headphone jack and speaker are located at the bottom.

The first possible flaw in design is the location of the power button on the top. The sheer size of the phone makes it hard to reach the power button with one hand.

The device comes in six colors—prism white, prism black, prism green, prism blue, ceramic white and ceramic black.

The display is made of Gorilla Glass Six which makes it resilient to common accidents.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus has not two, not three, but five cameras.

The three back cameras include a 12MP Telephoto Camera that enables you to zoom in without losing details, a 12Mp Wide Angle Camera which allows you to fit more into one shot and a 16MP Ultra Wide Camera that has a 123-degree range of view, almost like human eyes.

When it comes to the cameras on the front, the Galaxy S10 Plus offers a technology called 4K UHD recording as well as a dual camera for the best selfies. These features will allow you to play with the depth of your images and make perfectly clear selfie thanks to a dual pixel sensor.

The cameras don’t perform quite as well in low light as the Pixel or Huawei equivalent but this may not be a deal breaker for most users.

Battery

With the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, even the battery is smart. It learns your daily routine and based on that it powers down the apps you do not use. The Adaptive Power Saving Mode makes sure that your battery does not die at a critical moment.

The capacity of the battery is 4100mAh which reduces how often the phone needs to be recharged. The battery will last 12 hours and 35 minutes if you are constantly browsing the web and much longer with reduced activity.

Wireless Charging

Wireless Charging

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus can be charged wirelessly. All you need is the Samsung Wireless Charger Duo Pad and your device will be charged in no time. The pad is also equipped with cooling fans, so you do not have to worry about overheating.

Moreover, you can charge your phone with your friend’s Galaxy S10 Plus. All you need to do is to activate the option in the settings menu and place your phone back to back with your friend’s phone. In the same way you can charge your wireless earbuds and Galaxy Watch Active.

Performance

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus has outstanding performance thanks to One UI and the latest Android operating system. These features allow you to customize the software according to your preferences.

Besides the standard Google Assistant, you can also use Bixby. All you need to do is press the Bixby button. If you want to continue using Google Assistant, you can change the function of the button.

This phone also utilizes the next generation processor which allows the device to run smoothly even if you are playing games. The processor is designed to use less energy, while the device provides 12GB of RAM.

Also, you get an incredible 1TB of memory along with an extra 512GB with a microSD.

User Interface

One UI is the best software the company has ever used. The device is easy to use because all of the elements are now more accessible. There are also a lot of new features for Bixby which makes it a perfect virtual assistant.

The operating system perfectly handles multitasking and all of your favorite apps are only one swipe away. Dark mode and system management tools are also available.

Another great feature is the Kids mode which prevents your children from ordering things online and provides a child-friendly interface.

Bixby can also learn your routines. For example, it can connect to the Wi-Fi when you get home from work and turn the brightness of the display back up.

Special Features

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is completely water and dust resistant. The device has the IP68 rating which is the highest standard for water and dust resistance. You can even take amazing pictures and videos in the pool and your device will still work perfectly.

Another awesome feature is the Samsung Knox. It turns your phone into a vault the minute you turn it on. That way, all of your data and sensitive information remains safe.

Biometric authentication includes an Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner and Facial Recognition. However, if you prefer old school features, you can choose PIN, password, or a pattern to unlock your device.

Users’ Reviews

Given the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S10 has just been released, there are only a handful of customer reviews so far. However, most users are thrilled with Samsung’s latest model and not a single bug has been reported.

The most popular features include the wide-angle cameras, great selfie features, top-notch security, outstanding design and wireless charging.

One thing you should be aware of is the grip, or lack of. The phone is big and slippery so it can easily end up on the floor. However, thanks to the Gorilla Glass Six on both sides of the device, your phone is less likely to break compared to older versions.

The only group of people who were not thrilled with Samsung’s newest addition were iPhone users. However, this is more a matter of habit or preference.

The only negative that comes to mind is the high price. The device can be bought for $999.99 or more, depending on retailer and the storage size selected. But, the price is something you have to deal with if you want a high-end device and Galaxy S10 Plus is as high as it gets right now.

It is equipped with five cameras, three rear and two front lenses designed especially for selfies. Moreover, the device features an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor which utilizes ultrasound to scan your fingerprint. Another impressive feature is the fact you can charge your phone with your friend’s.
