Unlock the Power of Your iPhone: Max Performance Tips

More than before, iPhones are not ordinary phones. They are little computers we keep, which we make use of to purchase concert tickets, Zoom with boss or colleagues, book flights, calculate our calories and steps, navigate our routes, monitor our children, and so on. Interestingly, the list is never-ending.

Iphones perform a lot of functions for us. Meanwhile, it is reasonable to safeguard them with screen protectors and cases, among other precautionary measures. Yet, there are other things that can be done to maintain the optimum performance of our iPhones.

A slow device that moves at the pace of a snail each time you use it could be highly frustrating. Luckily, it is not usually so difficult to solve the problem. You only need to devote a little period to play around with the phone’s settings and get it functioning the way you desire.

If your iPhone is starting to become quite slow, check out how you can maximize its performance.

Max Performance Tips for iPhones

Evaluate Your Network

A lot of applications need an internet connection for their content and other functionalities. That means if your network is congested (for instance, on an occasion with several people utilizing the same network), applications could take longer to open or show their content. Your device may also seem slow as it repeatedly connects to new cell towers again when you are in a moving vehicle.

Whenever your mobile phone shows a strong signal, you may need to pause, try in another location, or make use of available Wi-Fi. However, if you keep on experiencing issues with the speed of cellular data, availability, or performance at several locations, then you may need to reach out to your carrier.

Close Apps that are Not Responding

If an application freezes or stops responding, then you may need to force it to close before you open it afresh.

On the home screen of your iPhone or iPad, you can swipe up from the bottom of the screen and wait a little bit. Afterwards, swipe left or right to see the app you should close. Then you can swipe up on the preview of the application to completely close down the app.

Under normal circumstances, force closing an application is not needed and does not mean your device will begin to respond faster. As a matter of fact, it takes a longer period for an app to open after it has been force closed. This is because it will need to load all its data again.

Check Your Storage Space

If your mobile phone is low on storage, iOS automatically frees up space while installing apps, recording videos, updating iOS, downloading music, etc. Note that iOS solely eliminates items that are no longer needed, or can be installed some other time.

The storage of your device can be checked in Settings. Go to General, and you will see the device (storage). To get optimum performance, endeavor to maintain a minimum of 1GB of available space. Note that if your device space is constantly lower than 1GB, then your phone could frequently get slowed down, as iOS repeatedly gives room for additional content.

Meanwhile, to free up space on your device, there are steps you can follow to turn on the storage-saving recommendations built into iOS. From Settings, go to General, click on Storage, and go through the recommendations that may be provided by iOS. Thereafter, you may tap on enable, so as to turn on a recommendation. Alternatively, you can tap a recommendation title to review the content that can be deleted.

Nevertheless, in a case where you do not find any recommendations, or if you are required to free up additional space, you can then review the apps on your device. They are all listed on the same device storage screen with the level of space they make use of.

The moment you choose “app”, one of two actions will be required from you. It is either you offload the app, which frees up storage used by the app and protects its data and documents, or you delete it, which removes the app and related data.

Turn Off Low Power Mode

This mode is a feature on the iPhone that increases the battery life through minimizing the level of power that your device uses. In this low-power mode, certain features are usually turned off, with some tasks taking longer time to finish. Bear in mind that if the icon of your battery is yellow, that means the low power mode has been turned on.

If you need your iPhone to work in the absence of low power restrictions, you should leave the low power mode. To turn on or off the low power mode, choose “battery” from Settings.

Prevent Your Device from Getting Too Hot or Cold

iOS adjusts the performance of your device if it gets too warm as a result of external conditions, such as being dropped in a hot vehicle or when it is used for a long period in direct sunlight. To prevent your device from getting too hot, you can move your device to a cooler place and allow its temperature to adjust.

However, note that highly cold temperatures can as well reduce your device’s performance. If your device is slow to respond after exposure to cold, endeavor to take it to a warmer place.

Evaluate Your Battery Health

All rechargeable batteries are consumable components that get less effective as they age chemically. Over time, the rechargeable batteries in every iPhone model will reduce in their peak performance and capacity, and will ultimately need to be replaced. Interestingly, iOS can show the health of your battery and suggest if an iPhone battery requires replacement.

Improve your iPhone’s Performance

Just like any appliance or device, with appropriate care and maintenance, your iPhone will thrive. However, note that it doesn’t matter whether your phone is slow or not, you should always implement these strategies in order to unlock iPhone’s reliability. This means these tips will help to increase your iPhone’s lifespan and battery health while giving optimum performance.
